Recreational Gymnastics (Ages 5Y+)
Our program ensures all gymnasts are constantly improving and developing their skills. Gymnasts are encouraged to meet their full potential and most importantly have fun in the process.
Designed for participants with varying abilities, beginner classes introduce students to fundamental gymnastic skills in an environment that is safe, fun and focused on participation. Students develop the body control, coordination and self-confidence foundation required for gymnastics and all sports. Students will be introduced to gymnastic apparatus including the floor, vault, beam, bars, pommel horse, rings and trampoline.
Intermediate classes are designed for those looking to take the next step in learning authentic gymnastic skills – this is where becoming a ‘gymnast’ really starts to take shape. Intermediate levels are not competitive (do not participate in competitions), however students may transition to the Competitive Squad pending interest, capability and motivation.
Our women’s competitive squad provides an opportunity for members who wish to train, perform and compete in the Australian National Levels at local, regional, state and international events.
Competition squads require an increased level of commitment from the gymnast and their families. Gymnasts are required to attend set training hours every week, and must be available on competition weekends.
Athletes perform a series of aerial skills without interruption or pause between each skill and perform skills containing up to three twists or rotations. Classes are suitable for all ability levels. Skills are performed an Olympic size euro trampoline, double mini and tumble track.
Both beginners and intermediate trampoline classes are available, depending on the child’s ability and age.
